Early on she discovered her interest in the visual arts and took on collages. Many of them came into being under the direct influence of classical music and jazz.
She became a student at the Art Students League of New York and the National Academy School of Fine Art and Design, where she learned new techniques and ways of handling different mediums.
Elena was awarded a sculpture price at the National Academy Museum. She was elected as a member of the Audubon Artists Society, New York.
She is showing her works extensively in New York and nationwide, including the Salmagundi Arts Club, Gallery 57 NYC, Rogue Space Gallery Chelsea, Highline Loft Gallery Chelsea, the Audubon Artists Society, 25 CPW Gallery Central Park West, the American Artists Professional League, the National Art League, the Santa Cruz Art League, the Liz Afif Gallery Philadelphia, the “Art for Japan” – UNICEF fund raiser, and others, as well as overseas in Spain and Germany. Her works can also be found in private collections in the US, Europe and Australia.
